Margate Old Town is a place for creativity & the arts, with a range of galleries, cafes & niche shops. Set back from the harbour the Old Town combines history with regeneration. Walk through the cobbled streets to find the old Market Place, where markets are still held at times through the year (next one is Saturday 25th September).


The nation's high streets may be declining but we're definitely open for business. We're at the bottom end of the high street opposite the harbour and you'll find us if you dare to stroll through in the direction of Morrisons' supermarket. Better still, pick up a map of the Old Town from the Visitor Information Centre and you'll have your very own guided tour.
