The first market of the 2010 season took place on Easter Saturday, 3rd April. The sun shone all day in absolute defiance of the weather forecast. With the wind taking a back seat it felt like summer had arrived early.
BBC Radio Kent enticed newcomers to the area on Easter Saturday by putting Qing's proprietor on air just before 11am to tell people why they should visit.
The second market, Saturday 29th May, was also featured on BBC Radio Kent & Thanet's new local radio station, Academy FM. (We are so appreciative of the BBC's & Academy FM's support.)
Margate Old Town seems to have its own micro-climate - the expected torrential rain for May 29th did not visit and instead there was about ten minutes of drizzle. Hardy & determined customers, with a keen eye
for a bargain were not put off by any plastic covering on stalls & were still buying in the rain!!.

June's market was a hot one and a great time was had by all. The sun brought out the people & a great welcome was given to our day trippers from Hackney!! July's market took place on the Piazza in support of the Soul & Carnival weekend and August's market saw the best of the bank holiday weather.
Bookings are now being taken for the season's last market in September.
